@torsteinv@mastodon.social @jackwellborn@mastodon.social @atpfm@mastodon.social I suppose it depends how people feel about it. I have the previous version of the Studio Display. I'm sure there are better ones but I never look at this and think outdated. 🤷♂️
It helps the casing looks much nicer than some plastic display but if I did not like the screen I was looking at every day I'd switch.
I totally agree they could do better but I'm guessing the sales say they don't need to and unfortunately that's what they're looking at.

@fds@mastodon.social @torsteinv@mastodon.social @atpfm@mastodon.social In a weird sad way, this truly lackluster “update” retroactively makes buying a Studio Display in 2022 a good investment. The Studio Display in 2022 was much nicer and not that much more expensive than the only other 5K option at the time, the LG UltraFine. Given no one should be tempted to “upgrade” to this year's model, many owners will end up using their 2022 model for the better part of a decade.
