@chu@climatejustice.social I don't think the b40s in my country share the same sentiment but I understand how it covers up major work that should've been done to make life less fuel dependent eg electrification if cars etc.

@liztai@hachyderm.io It's the kind of corrupt subsidy that only benefits a few. You don't benefit much because you drive a fuel efficient car. Dude with a 12 mpg pick up does. Oil companies love these kinds of subsidies because it looks like the little people benefit whereas in reality, only they do. If it was about subsidizing life for the little people, cut everyone a cheque not tied to how much fuel they buy and let them decide how it is spent.
