It's the kind of corrupt subsidy that only benefits a few. You don't benefit much because you drive a fuel efficient car. Dude with a 12 mpg pick up does.
Oil companies love these kinds of subsidies because it looks like the little people benefit whereas in reality, only they do.
If it was about subsidizing life for the little people, cut everyone a cheque not tied to how much fuel they buy and let them decide how it is spent.

@chu@climatejustice.social @liztai@hachyderm.io That was what our Carbon Tax rebate actually was! Cyclists and folks who took transit benefitted and folks with big trucks did not.
