@bremner@mathstodon.xyz unfortunately due to the protectionist policies of our govt, electric cars are only for the rich right now. It's infuriating. I may get an electric bike, however.

@liztai@hachyderm.io Ah, sounds similar to Canada. I'm not really clear why we have such tariffs, I guess to curry favour with the USA. There isn't any purely local manufacturing, but maybe we assemble EVs from US or Japanese companies.
