You see, it's easy to remember that a gallon weighs about eight and a third pounds, because a gallon is equal to four quarts (_quart_ers of a gallon), and a quart is about five percent smaller than a liter (liters were designed to be close to a volume that was itself about a quart), and a liter of water is a kilogram of mass, and one kilogram weighs 2.2 pounds, and so from that we know a gallon of water has to be about five percent (0.44) less than 8.8 pounds, therefore close to 8.36 pounds.
Anyway no, I've never had reason to think I wasn't basically neurotypical, why do you ask?
