It’s very likely that someone comes out of the pack to win, as well, but the six I’ve mentioned are the ones I’d be least surprised by. If I was going to pull out more names, I would look at Mohamed Esa (9/ESA) who trains with Nageeye, or Nicholas Kipkorir (18/KIPKORIR) who is a two-time Olympian on the track but making his marathon debut.

For the Americans, Galen Rupp (19/RUPP) is entered again with the fastest PB (although it’s relatively old, a 2:06:07 from Prague 2018), but Clayton Young (24/YOUNG) might be the best hope for the Americans. We may see a good performance from someone like Joe Klecker (39/KLECKER) who is still building experience.
