@mac84tv@bitbang.social Hmm. I worked for AppleLink: Personal Edition, which eventually became America Online. I was involved in the betas for Apple II/IIGS and PC versions, although not the Mac. I do, however, recall the release of the Mac software. By the time the Mac software was released, Apple which operated the service jointly with Quantum Computer Services, had left the project. The service was renamed America Online. I don't recall the codename Aladdin, but I do know Apple liked to have codenames for their products. I don't remember referring to it as such, but it's possible it may have had one.

@mac84tv@bitbang.social By the way, I thought both the Mac and PC versions of America Online came out in 1991. I wonder if Aladdin was eWorld, which was another service that Apple created a few years later, that I believe was somewhat based on AppleLink and America Online. I was never involved in eWorld, so I don't know much about it other than it existed.

@mac84tv@bitbang.social That’s a bit confusing. Isn’t the SIT extractor on Windows also called Aladdin?
