Hmm. I worked for AppleLink: Personal Edition, which eventually became America Online. I was involved in the betas for Apple II/IIGS and PC versions, although not the Mac. I do, however, recall the release of the Mac software.
By the time the Mac software was released, Apple which operated the service jointly with Quantum Computer Services, had left the project. The service was renamed America Online.
I don't recall the codename Aladdin, but I do know Apple liked to have codenames for their products. I don't remember referring to it as such, but it's possible it may have had one.

@Starcade@sfba.social @mac84tv@bitbang.social I was there in the beginning, too. I ran the Apple II programming forum. The Apple II software was code named Samuel. My collection of AppleLink Update magazines (missing a few) are up on the @internetarchive@mastodon.archive.org
