Is the email system breaking down? Just now I went to an art gallery and a board game shop, and both proprietors complained that their mails never arrive any more. Coming home, I discovered a mail I was expecting for days in my spam box, while there was no reason for doing so. Is the pressure getting too high or something? It's getting impossible to mail people.

@ppk@front-end.social Someone reported that Google, for example, is starting to block emails by domain. @petergleick@fediscience.org sir was it you? Or @pluralistic@mamot.fr may know.

  • @ppk@front-end.social It is only a small number of providers that have really bad spam filters, microsoft and google are the worst at it.

  • @ppk@front-end.social @baldur@toot.cafe lately I use my Junk folder as Inbox. Fortunately, in my personal account I don’t get much actual spam, so I still manage to move relevant messages in my actual inbox. The work account on Outlook is even worst; messages do arrive, but content written with Outlook is often unintelligible, as Ourlook makes properly quoting previous messages basically impossible. Unfortunately email has entered a very slippery slope stage.
