@eviltrout@carpdiem.online That's true, but the most annoying part is some platforms don't have viable alternatives. A good example is Discord, for which the nearest equivalent lacks 90% of what people like about it.

@Aeder@stereophonic.space on the other hand, Discord content is ethereal and disappears quickly. There’s not much keeping users from switching. Reddit and Twitter have decades of user submitted content and history. Much harder to leave behind.
