I said “Everyone can get that 80% from AI, including your competitors. What humans do in that 20% is what’s going to differentiate you and elevate you over your competition.” That 80% is the easiest part of the task, and it does it poorly/average at best. It’s not good at it. If you’re okay with mediocre, fine, but you’re going to get thwomped by someone that invests in humans doing human work much better than you can do it.

    I’m really bothered by so much of this. So much of these AI systems are built on deeply unethical theft and disregard for human impact. They willingly allow these systems to give medical advice, provide therapy, and more. They have been documented to encourage suicide and murder in some cases. Their businesses are destroying the environment and the global marketplace of tech components. They are destructive and evil companies.

    @pandora_parrot@beach.city i want to write good software, so cutting corners like this bothers me so much even before "ai", software quality was on the decline, and now it has accelerated that decline pretty significantly i want good software, not the shittiest software they can afford to make while still keeping me as a user
