I’m really bothered by so much of this. So much of these AI systems are built on deeply unethical theft and disregard for human impact. They willingly allow these systems to give medical advice, provide therapy, and more. They have been documented to encourage suicide and murder in some cases. Their businesses are destroying the environment and the global marketplace of tech components. They are destructive and evil companies.

I desperately want the AI bubble to pop so people can finally wrestle with the real costs of LLMs instead of the deeply subsidized prices. I want people in legislation to penalize these companies for their crimes against humanity.

@pandora_parrot@beach.city I spent an hour reviewing a less experienced developer’s code with him today. He relies too much on AI and it shows. He has a C background and was doing C++. Basically the code had mistakes from him and mistakes from the AI which had learnt from bad code. I didn’t criticise I did educate!
