@Devijand@mastodon.social oh yeah, we'll be picking that junk out of out allotment plot for years... when we took on our second plot we pulled up to 4 layers out of places, often with dirt between... strata of the junk... sometimes interleaved with the felty stuff which just tears into random chunks too.
Problem is the council guy who manages the site actually encourages people to use the stuff.
We use only cardboard and woodchip ourselves, and it seems to work better than the plastic does for other folks.

@yvan@toot.ale.gd @Devijand@mastodon.social I've pulled out tens of square metres of this stuff from my garden, the previous owners were clearly big fans! None of it came up cleanly, it all had roots through it, and it had been in the ground long enough that there was enough organic matter on top of it to support whatever felt like growing. I hope I've managed to find it all!
