@keyboardpipette@genomic.social The support site is still open to the public. There is where conversations about using a package or bioinformatics knowledge should be held. But what moved away from public forums in bioinformatics? biostars.org seqanswers, bioinformatics.stackexchange are all still open... did I miss smting? But I don't disagree with moving to closed forums. If (AI) companies want to profit from the knowledge they should be prepared to pay the price and consequences. @lgatto@fediscience.org @bioconductor@genomic.social

If there is already a public forum, is zulip or slack necessary? Another example is nextflow which AFAIK only has slack and no public forums, and not everything discussed in there is specific to nextflow. But I do take your point at AI crawlers.
