@lgatto@fediscience.org @Lluis_Revilla@fosstodon.org @bioconductor@genomic.social the next step, and I read it was already being considered is to make the threads public. It irks me a little how much helpful information is in slack/ zulip but not accessible. It's sad that some parts of bioinformatics moved away from public forums and Q&A sites.

    @keyboardpipette@genomic.social The support site is still open to the public. There is where conversations about using a package or bioinformatics knowledge should be held. But what moved away from public forums in bioinformatics? biostars.org seqanswers, bioinformatics.stackexchange are all still open... did I miss smting? But I don't disagree with moving to closed forums. If (AI) companies want to profit from the knowledge they should be prepared to pay the price and consequences. @lgatto@fediscience.org @bioconductor@genomic.social
