@aparrish@friend.camp Yeah that's got good and bad versions, though I can't think of which I've seen in the wild lately. If the core itself is MIT, that feels pretty decent — no need for core contributors to sign away much. The add-ons, that is the clever and/or exploitative. A lot depends on how granular those addons are. Is it the typical SAML sort of thing? Written by the company maintaining it? Seems fine by me. A core feature everyone needs and that core developers do most of the maintenance of? UGH

    @aredridel@kolektiva.social i'm fine with the idea of selling add-ons to corporate customers. i don't like that the GPL+CLA combo seems designed to attract contributions that the business can turn around and sell without compensating the contributor and/or relicense at will
