@Ciaraioch@mastodon.ie forget the various online services. Low barrier to entry = too much cruft to sift through.
I know this sounds old school, and it is. Literally. Take a class somewhere, (in person!) about a topic you’re interested in & interact with the people in the class.
It’s a great way to filter for common interests. And even if you don’t meet somebody you won’t have wasted your time (as long as you picked an interesting class/course).

@Ciaraioch@mastodon.ie I know I know… but 2 friends of mine met their SOs this way after spending a ridiculous amount of time on Tinder & its competition. Worth a shot.
