@mattmay@mstdn.social That much debt is colossal. The entirety of the AI industry imploding will have horrible effects on the economy I don't look forward to. But I think it is inevitable.

@mattmay@mstdn.social I am not a huge fan of the "hyperscaling" bullshit tbh and I think this is an incredibly unsustainable business model being driven by absolute hubris; doesn't mean I like what's coming anyway in terms of the economic effects.

@Elizafox@social.treehouse.systems I think there’ll be a little interregnum where Anthropic or the others go, hey, I’ll take their NVIDIA quota this quarter. Or, I’ll take that next Stargate DC. But soon enough NVIDIA’s making a surplus, DCs are getting powered down, and some dominos like Oracle start to fall. They’ll swear they can contain the outbreak with a bailout, but by that point it’ll be a pandemic.
