@jonsnow@mastodon.online Oh, FFS Because no one ever uses VPNs for anything else, ever.

@jonsnow@mastodon.online Isn’t all the stuff that requires age verification online on the internet? Might be better to tackle things at the root and just switch off the entire thing, much more efficient.

@jonsnow@mastodon.online Looking at things like this and tax payers' money the EU pumps into wars (has done so for decades) and other stupidities like their push towards the digital EURO goes to show that the EU is nothing more than an old shite hole. Trying to control each and every one of us and each of our moves through their empire. Frustrating to watch them governing so incredibly detached from us.

@jonsnow@mastodon.online I hate these attacks on privacy as most people here, but the title does a lot of editorializing for clicks. First, the linked paper doesn't say what the EU wants, but states that 'some people say'. Second, they don't want to forbid VPNs I general, they seem to want to require age attestation for VPNs as well to close the loophole of visiting a site from a country without age verification. I think in fighting these things, it's good to be precise and not sling clickbait.
