Ah, your federation was so transparent I couldn't tell. I think fedi has something similar to the ATProto login system so you can authorize apps and such? Maybe I could plug atlogin into that and make it work with both.
What does your family use for an account system today?

@apenwarr.ca I'm primarily interested in Tailscale (mostly for my mom and sister so I can fix their computers) and Mailcow which we use for our family domain. Putting an OIDC in front of Mailcow is probably overkill.
