@etchedpixels@mastodon.social yeah, and I'm just saying we need to be responsible. If you break behavior, make a new API, call it v2 and drop the old one after X years. Not only if parameter change, but for behavior.
There are ways of doing this properly.

@karolherbst@chaos.social so now you have two API versions to maintain and twice the interface surface. There are always trade offs. For a project with few maintainers the resource for that may not exist and if people won't contribute to make it possible they don't get to have a say.
