Besides, let's look at it rationally. If unearned jobs were just being farmed out to black people, then shouldn't that have translated into some type of measurable outcome? We have numbers for this. Let's take a look at the wealth gap...     I hear people say that this moment in American history hearkens back to the gilded age. I get the general idea. Income inequality is sky high, robber barons are running the government, etc, etc. I don't disagree that this is a good fit, but I do think that it's an incomplete picture of what's happening. Dr. Rayford W. Logan was an African American historian in the late 1800s, and I really urge you to learn about him if you haven't heard of him and you care about history. 7/20
