@krst@mastodon.social @caffeinatedgeek@thecanadian.social OpenAI IS programmed to be addictive through the use of the Reinforcement Reply algorithm that compliments the user on every and all comments regardless of threat or rationality. (See Tumbler Ridge) It's all about capturing and keeping the attention of the user. Young people are more susceptible to this than adults and adults are not very good at resisting this stuff. As to addressing the user rather than the supplier. It's about where provincial authority lays. And that's only within its borders. As to giving the tech bro more private info? Um guys, giving a DOB associated with a bio-ID in order to protect youth from privacy violations that are destroying them is a small sacrifice …
