@lich_silvae@masto.fediverse.games Another idea would be putting your name/copyright in the metadata of the image before uploading, but signatures are probably more reliable (I don't know which platforms would remove metadata)

@Anke@social.scribblers.club I think it would take software really making picture metadata front and center for wider adoption to start taking place. Music metadata is what I'm familiar with, and while most pieces of software will display common tags like "Artist" or "Album" there's some more obscure tags like "Original Artist" that rarely get used because it's not typically shown when using a music player. Making an extra section to display the tag would take considerable effort so there's no incentive to unless enough people asked for it. I think it should become common practice for programs to have metadata displayed alongside the image you were viewing. It would also be very handy for tagging pictures as AI or not.
