Why do Sinn Féin hate people who cycle? I cycled to every one of my radiotherapy sessions when I was being treated for cancer and I've cycled, and will continue to cycle, to my regular post-treatment check ups. Sheltered, secure cycle parking is not a luxury or an extravagance. It's a necessity. @ccferrie@mastodon.ie To be fair, I think he's questioning the cost rather than the provision of such a facility.

@ccferrie@mastodon.ie Based on the article, he’s questioning why it cost €127K instead of €7K, not its existence.

@ccferrie@mastodon.ie because SF are happy to jump on any populist opportunity regardless of any available bigger picture.

@ccferrie@mastodon.ie And by the way, the bus + Luas journey to St James's from Rathmines is fine - get off the S2 at the second bus stop and walk 10 metres or so to the Luas stop. But coming the other way, it's a looong walk to the bus stop from the Luas stop, as far as I can see. (If you're going to Heuston, S2 goes way down the side of the station, but Luas stops in front, so it's a good workaround to use bus/tram mix)
