@nazokiyoubinbou@urusai.social The biggest issue isn't CPU power for the emulation itself, ironically.
It runs fine if choppy at native game resolution (320x200). The problem is the ScummVM UI brings the system to its knees to render until you turn off anti-aliasing (really), and then since ScummVM can't output below 480p it shows up as a tiny box in the center until you turn on scaling and that causes performance to tank too.

@nazokiyoubinbou@urusai.social My guess is a graphics card with decent OpenGL support would fix the scaling speed issues, but one of those would be amusingly anachronistic given the preponderance of MiniGL "we did just enough OpenGL to get Quake to work" implementations. also it's a Virge, it'd probably still be slow even with full OpenGL :P
