Pumble. * Fully released * Free tier is quite limited * Not OSS * Not Self-hostable * Not E2E * Has calls (but paid) * Very limited moderation at free tier * Supported everywhere Pumble sems to basically just be bringing the fight to slack, and honestly it seems to be doing a good job of it. Because of that though it's clearly not going to take a bite out of any sort of grass-roots community work. Check it out if you're the rare person who doesn't like Slack but still wants to use Slack?

@mdiluz@mastodon.gamedev.place Mattermost has essentially given the OSS community the middle finger. To make matters worse, they have a 10k message team edition (self hosted as well) https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost/issues/34271#issuecomment-3601919951

@mdiluz@mastodon.gamedev.place What do you meant “no web app” for mattermost? I just did a 3-way call tonight with 2 other folks using mattermost. I was using Firefox. I had video, audio, and screen sharing. They also have a mobile app.

@mdiluz@mastodon.gamedev.place No web app? My institute has mattermost, and webapp is the only was I interact with it.

@mdiluz@mastodon.gamedev.place MM has a web app (= you can use browser, or you can use mobile client) , appears to have been a decent choice for one project I'm adjacent to (~3K users), hasn't yet done any extractive shit to them *that I'm aware of*
