Here in the ‘burbs I prefer the “two holer” boxes. It gives the bluebirds a chance to defend themselves and their nests when the house sparrows attack. If the HOSP setup shop first I plug the far hole, place a small screw, hang the van ert and wait. When a bird plops down the spring slaps the hole closed. Weekends only.
