A cold, wet, gloomy day, so little activity in the garden 🤷♂️
Thankfully, I have many interesting pictures to post from the past two days spent at the Tagungsstätte Löwenstein east of Heilbronn with the PFE dept of @mpi_astro.
Let's start with this dramatically-coloured soldier fly (Clitellaria ephippium; 🇩🇪 Rotrücken-Waffenfliege).

Many of the pictures were taken hand-held & most under darker conditions than that previous one. Plus with so many species which were new to me, you have to take my IDs with a grain of salt.
