You can give the characters gifts to raise their affection and do hangouts with them and stuff.

Now that everything is clicking I'm having an absolute blast with this, exploring the city, doing quests, dailies, side activities, main story. It's all good. I'm probably just repeating the same pattern as with Star Rail and will totally burn out- but it's less overwhelming getting in at the beginning when there's not years of stuff to catch up on.
