@eric@social.coop @Talia@mstdn.social @jks@kolektiva.social I self describe as a 'scholar activist' but although I've held visiting University appointments, I'm an intellectual, not an academic, and haven't had a paid Univ job since the early 80s. I use the s-a description because I try to ensure that my activism is grounded in sound ethics, theory and evidence.

It seems just a fashionable label that people want to adopt I spoke to one who I swear to god explained their use of the word ‘activist’ with the phrase ‘brand strategy report’
