@DrEvanGowan@fediscience.org A lot of people are never going to accept Mastodon as long as nazis and other abusers are swiftly banned here. Because their whole use case for social networking is to argue with those people and think that's doing some great service opposing those worldviews, rather than just treating them as valid enough to be present.

@DrEvanGowan@fediscience.org I have noticed that the usual rule for people who rely on centralized services is to get really really upset when they go down, complain, desperately refresh over and over, and then when it comes back up, proceed to do jack squat to move to anything else, eventually just forgetting/pretending like it going down doesn't really affect them.
