@f09fa681@digitalcourage.social @Hoffi@social.cologne @cycling_on_rails@mastodon.social The solution - if you don't want to disassemble the bike! - is find a Strasbourg to the south of France TGV that does convey bikes, and then from south of France route to Port Bou on TER trains that do take bikes. Find TGVs that do take bikes on SNCF Connect!

  • @jon@gruene.social @f09fa681@digitalcourage.social @Hoffi@social.cologne Another option: ICE to Basel, then cross Switzerland to Geneva, regional train to Lyon & continue from there (either the direct Lyon-Barcelona by Renfe, or regional trains), as @wolfgangcramer@fediscience.org has tooted in the past. If you go for a 3-month tour anyway and can afford one more day of travel via slower/regional trains this may be a viable alternative for you? Beware though of mandatory bicycle reservations on many French regional trains: https://cycling-on-rails.com/train-bicycle-guide/france/#regional-trains-ter
