desktop Unix (Linux, BSD, etc.) users: how well could you function using only consoles (no X, Wayland, DE, WM, whatever, but console graphical programs allowed)

    @alilly@solarpunk.moe limited practical uses it's kinda hard to play video games that way server stuff though? yeah we're fine.

    @alilly@solarpunk.moe the one time I tried a console PDF viewer the image quality was, as expected, not great. But the real killer is all these JS-heavy websites, I tried using links and lynx again briefly while trying to fix an X setup problem on an old machine recently, and... almost no sites are navigable that way, they put too many random links everywhere to find anything (makes me sad for folks using screen readers...)

    @alilly@solarpunk.moe I learned Emacs with the intention of keeping all my fingers on the home row. I'd feel somewhat thankful for the excuse not to have to reach for a mouse.
