Democracy is a rare dissolution of central power that allows those resources to be allocated not to the most sociopathically ambitious but intelligently to address relevant needs since democratically elected leaders are selected not according to nepotism from a microscopic set of loyalists but multidisciplinary competence from across the entire population.

  Housing is not an investment. If your literal beating heart is not physically within throwing distance of your property at least 10% of the year, you should be taxed up the wazoo.
