i feel like breakups wouldn't be so life ruining if weren't denied meaningful connections & community. romantic relationships are the closest many of us get to real community - like, people you're actually *integrated* with on a daily basis. we're social animals but we live deeply, deeply antisocial lives, and our partners are often our only escape from that. #relationships
