Why would sex be similarly intimate as alcohol consumption? I'd say to a large degree because alcohol consumption is normally expected or accepted it can be considered a sort-of public-facing choice (or necessity) that sex isn't. If I was unable to walk I'd need to tell people because people walk all the time. If my friends were expecting to watch me and someone have sex it would be normal to expect a reason for declining.

@maggiejk@zeroes.ca @digichelle@hachyderm.io But in general this "where's the line" seems silly because this argument could be used to decry all inquiry into a person's life as invasive. Conversation and social engagement hinges on exchanging information and asking questions. Of course we can draw the line somewhere but asking where it is isn't an argument for why the line should be in a specific place.
