@ncrav@mas.to Worth probing who's behind it, too. It's all a deflection from the demand that big social actually cleans up its act. Big social has state backing right now from Washington, which adds some layers.

@tokyo_0@mas.to They've been trying stuff like this for a long while (chat control is another one). The entire comission seems to be nothing more than billionaire and US corrupt bootlickers these days, as their opinions on anything from war crimes to AI datacenters show. They also like to go behind everyone's backs to make deals (recent example https://www.lemonde.fr/en/les-decodeurs/article/2026/04/17/how-the-tech-lobby-made-secrecy-part-of-eu-law-on-data-centers_6752527_8.html). The commission should be extinguished if the EU even cared about working like a proper democracy.
