@pewterbaw@mastodon.scot Let's assume that I also don't know enough to advise anyone on what to do about it, but I can relay a couple of memories. I remember one relative giving up on a simple repair and essentially starting fresh. I remember asking about something red being painted onto the wall and floor behind where the tub and behind where the shower were going and it seems there is something which protects from moisture and mold. It all took a really long time and if I'd had any savings available then I'd have hired a contractor to do it.
