@optozorax@mathstodon.xyz This makes me think about what happens on an atomic level. Like, if you shoved your hand into a portal that is slightly concave on the other end then the atoms in your hand are gonna come out closer to one another than before, right?
Accidental nuclear fusion?

@beeps@social.beeps.gay @optozorax@mathstodon.xyz IIUC atoms, molecules, and structures are mostly empty space held together by forces that push and pull so depending on the curvature and the strength of these forces, you might be just fine as depicted here, or you might not as also depicted here :) I think you would feel it as a force pushing back long before you got fusion.
