@jk@mastodon.social @bingbong@infosec.town @gabboman Oh yes, there are valid use cases to want a single frame -- it's just not the core use case of VLC. If you need a single frame for something else (another video, making a GIF, or whatever) you're not in the primary use case of VLC, which is consuming video by watching. If you want editing, then other software is better geared towards that. VLC does not want to be a video editor.
