Nostalgic games about working at a convenience store in a different country with a (mostly) functioning economy are DEFINITELY a recession indicator

(though the devs are Japanese so iunno maybe just "nostalgia for what we thought was a shitty job but now Oh No" in general as a recession indicator)

@glassbottommeg@mastodon.gamedev.place The main dev behind inKONBINI is Russian, no Japanese staff AFAIK, and the game is literally filled with fake Japanese text that arguably looks more Chinese.
