Tilly describes a lot of pretty awful stuff in this essay about being trans online. If you want to know what trans women experience just existing on the internet and how gross it is, give it a read. It'll be eye opening.
I'm fortunate in that I have never received this kind of unwanted attention and I'm hopeful it stays that way. But at the same time, it makes me feel like there's something wrong with me because I don't get the unwanted attention...

@julie@merida.hair OMG I know how tempting it is but don’t fall prey to that thinking because as bad as you might feel now that is so much worse. Women like Tilly and me and others who were public before are just such easy targets for trolls—who don’t do any work and simply harass who’s in front of them. It’s not you, it’s just because few people actively hunt, on the Fediverse where that is so much harder. But that’s visibility you don’t need, trust me.
