@ghouston@mamot.fr I don't believe in a 'God' per se, personally, but I don't doubt that the rich and "elite" have *amended* the bible over the centuries to suit their own purposes. Any 'God' whose mandate is "follow me or go to hell" is not what 'Goodness' is about.

@CanvasesByPeter@mementomori.social I think there's just enough material in the Bible, sometimes contradictory, to let people cherry-pick it for whatever they want to get people to believe. I think if you are going to believe in an all-powerful all-knowing God then you also have to accept that God is creating people to fill a particular role in his plan, that they are inevitably going to do whatever he expects them to do, including going to hell if that is part of it. It's all predestination.
