If you are sharing something you want other people to use or purchase, the landing page should explain what it is and does. This sounds obvious, but a catastrophic number of open source projects and even businesses fail to do this I cannot count the number of times someone has dropped into a technical channel/forum/whatever with their thing and I have to ask them multiple times “okay but what does it do” even after reading all obvious material and I am usually surprised by the answer (subtooting something on another platform)
