@howl@social.zxq.co @lain@pleroma.soykaf.com @cj@i.write.codethat.sucks @Wolf480pl@niu.moe You know Android permissions? I think they can store whatever they want if people are happy to agree and know what it's used for. I think you should see a screen similar to what android permissions looked like every time you sign up for anything. That's the easiest way to make sure users know how dumb they are without having to teach them how tech works every time.

@Wolf480pl@niu.moe @cj@i.write.codethat.sucks @lain@pleroma.soykaf.com @howl@social.zxq.co Imagine how much nicer facebook would've been about tracking their users and/or how much smarter people would be to stay away from it if they got a huge list with icons telling them that "By signing up, Facebook will do everything from tracking your facial expressions to estimating your penis size whether you want us to or not" I don't think it should be illegal to track users. But it should be 110% clear to people exactly what they're getting themselves into.

@quad@masto.quad.moe @Wolf480pl@niu.moe @cj@i.write.codethat.sucks @lain@pleroma.soykaf.com @howl@social.zxq.co remember the era from Gingerbread to KitKat when calls and message permissions were available to multiple apps at the same time so Google added a yellow money icon near them with a short yellow warning message below the permission name? You just gave me the idea to try implement a "privacy" version of those for some risky permissions in LOS16 in the settings page for "all permissions" used by an app.
