@Wolf480pl@niu.moe @cj@i.write.codethat.sucks @lain@pleroma.soykaf.com @howl@social.zxq.co Imagine how much nicer facebook would've been about tracking their users and/or how much smarter people would be to stay away from it if they got a huge list with icons telling them that "By signing up, Facebook will do everything from tracking your facial expressions to estimating your penis size whether you want us to or not"
I don't think it should be illegal to track users. But it should be 110% clear to people exactly what they're getting themselves into.

@quad@masto.quad.moe @howl@social.zxq.co @lain@pleroma.soykaf.com @cj@i.write.codethat.sucks @Wolf480pl@niu.moe google started doing this a few months ago in their google search ToS that pop up every now and then when using Google, the list is basically 3 items stating they collect everything, they feed everything into a neural network and they use it to do everything from statistics to ads to building a clone of you using a perfecf copy of your dna generated using your search results and visited websites.
