@bonkers@nerdculture.de I don't imagine that I would produce something superior to a professional build, but I live in a built-up area and want to produce and mount something elevated to better tranceive UHF. I mainly want to do it to save money and to prove I can. Would be good to create something for a base rig that out-perform the stock antenna.

@JustinMac84@mastodon.social here's a short guide I found https://electricbug.com.au/how-to-choose-a-uhf-antenna/ Some simple ones are in the range of $50, and you probably can get them even cheaper from China. I'm not sure it makes sense to make one from scratch.
