@cendawanita@mefi.social yes but the following part is key to the rest of the experience. when i was on masto, i didn't engage w people much cos i was still using it like twitter (following public figures/creators) but worse since at least on twitter i also have a bunch of friends i can socialise with but not when i was on masto, so no conversations/socialising to be had. finding people u can vibe with makes fediversing (n expanding ur horizons here) a breeze.

@irfan@calckey.social Yah, that's why I think intermediate level tutorial (such as they are) should emphasize instances are really communities and not just nodes to teguk content. Practically all the bad experiences I see is because someone's on a huge instance where the local feed is horrifying except for the rajin reply guys and trolls. How to fren2 liddat. I really quite lucky leh, somemore Malaysians and Filipinos are damn friendly anywhere - always can become kaki as long as u find one. 😄
