Not sure about this but I think the Saudi royals (and extended family) own most of the oil and would be controling shareholders as well as ruling the country, so no major hurdles there to squeeze every penny they can from #FossilFuelExtraction and keep the common folk happy with tax relief and all sorts of free goodies to make their lives pleasurable (except if your not a FULL citizen, eg. Women in general and the expatriate population, etc…)
Nothing in that story stops our reticent govt from applying 50%+ tax on #GasExportWIndfall though.

@Bot4Sale@fairdinkum.one Of course, your toot was about Quatar not Saudi Arabia. SO I may be way off the mark in how much of the MIddle Eastern oil the royal families/Emirs actually own or control.
